HOW TO PURCHASE AND PAY USING THE AUTOMATED SHOPPING BASKET
All you have to do is click on the icon and the product is placed into your shopping basket. If you require more than one of the same item, go to the enlarged image by clicking on the thumbnail and select the quantity before clicking the buy this item icon, or you may alter the quantity in the shopping basket at the checkout.
You will be given the option to checkout or continue shopping. If you have finished shopping, click the checkout button and fill in your delivery details. If you wish, you may select to be remembered; your delivery details will automatically be completed for you next time you shop. We do not take or store your payment details!
PAYMENT
Please note we do not capture or keep a record of your financial information as we use the highly secure PAYPAL payment systems that have their own secure servers. You will see the padlock symbol on the page where you enter your card details as confirmation of this.
After you have completed filling in your delivery details, select the payment method you require and click the checkout button. You will be directed to the delivery option page; here you may select the delivery option you require.
Again click on the checkout button after selecting your delivery option and you will be directed to a secure server that is maintained by the payment provider to complete the payment process.
As soon as payment has been received you will receive confirmation that your order is in process. Normally, your goods will be despatched within 24 hours of receipt of cleared funds but during busy periods it may take longer; please check with me if your item is time sensitive or use the next day delivery option (UK only).

If you find the same product advertised for less than the Member’s price within seven days of purchase and it is their regular price, I will refund you twice the difference. All the items sold at Slotcar Pitstop are brand new and genuine products from the manufacturer; we do not sell second-hand products, grey stock or illegal duplicates. Some cars and track are available from sets that have been dismantled, as a way of providing better value to the consumer; these items are marked as non-retail packed or loose. All goods are sold subject to manufacturers’ warranty.

DELIVERY
The delivery weight of each item may be seen by clicking on the expanded view of the product. The shopping cart automatically adds up the weight of the items and applies the correct shipping cost. In the case of spares where the weight may be light but the value is high and insurance may be required, I will contact you if necessary. Delivery costs can be checked in advance by refering to the zone below that applies to your location, this chart is located below the delivery costs. I normally despatch items in the manufacturers’ retail packaging, which at times may add considerably to the overall weight. If you wish to save money on the shipping cost please enquire what the charge will be without the retail packaging and I will let you know if it is appropriate and the new cost.
PLEASE NOTE If you are ordering a set from abroad the transformer is specified to work at between 220-240 volts and has a UK 3-pin plug attached. If this is not required, I can remove it from the set make a price adjustment and reduce the delivery cost!
PACKAGING
Slot cars are delicate and a great deal of time has been taken to produce the high quality finish. I take a great amount of care in ensuring that the way they are packaged will withstand most abuse whilst they are en route to you, very occasionally damage does occur, if you are dissatisfied please contact me. Our postage prices reflect the care and attention paid to the correct packaging. The following packaging methods are used:-
Cars with plastic boxes or smaller sport/limited edition boxes: These are packed in sturdy corrugated boxes with bubble wrap and loose fill where appropriate. Multiple car orders: These are packaged in either multiple smaller sized corrugated boxes for Ninco, Carrera and other larger sizes. If the cars are uniform in size I often use the Scalextric corrugated cardboard box that they arrive in as they provide excellent protection, each car has its own protected cell within the box. Scalextric Twin Car Limited Editions: These are generally packaged in corrugated boxes by Scalextric to protect the outer sides of the box. I generally send these out in Mail-Lite bubble wrap lined protective envelopes of an appropriate size. Track: this is normally despatched in Mail-Lite bubble wrap lined protective envelopes. For larger consignments, I use strong boxes that are capable of withstanding the strains of the UK postal system.
Either large shipments abroad can be packed in strong boxes or if you wish to make a saving on the despatch cost I use bubble wrap and brown kraft paper, which has been a success for over two years. Accessories: For plastic accessories that can easily break I use the same system as slot-cars, for other non-breakable items generally a Mail-Lite bubble wrap lined protective envelope is employed sometimes with some extra support, it really depends upon what is being sent. Spare Parts: If they are ordered with a car, if possible they are packed with it. When they are ordered by themselves they generally are sent in a Mail-Lite Bubble-wrap lined envelope; larger orders or fragile items are despatched in a corrugated box appropriate to the size of the item. OUT OF STOCK / PRE-ORDERS
If an item is shown as due by a certain date you can still add it to your basket and it will be ordered for you. Please note that if unless you wish to pay an additional delivery charge your order will be held until the complete order is in stock. Due to the automated nature of the payment process your card will be debited immediately. If you prefer you may select to pay by cheque or e-mail me first to check on the availability of stock, especially if it is an advance purchase. All advance delivery dates are given in good faith but are provided by the manufacturer and they are subject to slippage; most models are now made in China and shipping/manufacturing problems can at times delay their release.
RETURNS
Please notify us of any problems within 7 days of receipt, and we will arrange for replacement or refund as appropriate; do not send items back without agreement. All goods are sold subject to manufacturers’ warranty; this does not include wear and tear.

We do not store any information about customers other than the essentials to deliver your goods. Cookies are only used to remember your shopping cart during your browser session.
